We just finished two blissfully wonderful weeks of Spring Break and it was so great to have my boy home with us. One of those weeks my husband was off work and it made for a particularly lovely time. We got to gallavant around freely with nothing pulling our attention or time elsewhere. Resting was so much more possible for that reason. And what made our time even sweeter was being able to sit together as a family during Good Friday and Easter services! What a treat that was to celebrate our risen Saviour with all of us together.
Now my boy is back to school and I am happy to say he had a great first day. Which is a huge relief for this mama.
And today was also the first day of my husband starting at a new church as the Children’s and Family Pastor. We have been awaiting this transition for a couple of months and we are so glad to finally be here.
It is bitter/sweet leaving one church for another. We miss those we leave behind but we are so excited for the future in our new church. Already the feelings of home are strong. Our church loves the Word of God and truly cares for people and its a beautiful thing to behold.
When the Lord calls you to move on in a new direction, you go, because He knows what He is doing. And in this case, yet again, His way was right.
So we find ourselves in a place of new faces, as we did just two years ago, once more. There will be different experiences to be had and challenges to encounter. But I look forward to seeing how the Lord moves in ways only He can do.
However although the church is new to us, our mission is the same. We want to be faithful ministers of the Good News. We want to teach the many truths of Christ with joy, love and urgency and scatter the seeds of salvation to young souls. And then we want to stand back and let the Lord give the growth in whatever way He wills. Our goals are unchanged.
I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 3:14
We count it a blessing to be where we are and it is a joy to serve the Creator of all things.
And that is the latest…for now.
