Think About Such Things…

“Whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Philippians 4:8 

Today was one of those days that was just lovely. Everything about it was wonderful. I find it kind of sad how very seldom these days actually occur. Probably because I am too busy or bogged down by the concerns of life to notice.

But today, everything felt…right.

We started the day with pumpkin pancakes (which I decided to make a thanksgiving monday tradition because they were so good!). And after that the day consisted of relaxing and playing with the kids, running a couple of errands, all of us having an awesome afternoon nap, having a friend from Texas stop by for a quick visit, then a really good dinner and play time with the kids.

And now here I sit with the kids in bed realizing how so very blessed I am. What a good day! I know it seems rather ordinary. Nothing exciting. But aren’t those sometimes the best kind of days?

I feel like this season of life is one with much testing, but in the midst of that I need to be able to see clearly at what a pleasure it is to be where I am. I want to think of the things that are true, noble, and praiseworthy. And there are plenty of such things in my life.

Thank you Jesus for today!
